With the advent of the digital camera, very few people use old 35 mm style cameras anymore. It is simply a lot easier to be able to page through your photos on your computer or mobile phone that old fashioned photo albums are quickly becoming obsolete. That said though, there are often a number of older photos that we would like to hang on to and make something of. Photoshop and its wide range of applications provide the perfect opportunity to do this.

For natural looking touch ups of old pictures, Photoshop is the tool to use. Are your photos a bit blurry or discolored? Old cameras used to need the right film with the right settings or the photos would show red or green overtones. If you can learn how to photoshop, you will soon be able to fix those problems.

Of course, not all bad photos can be saved but there is a lot you can do in Photoshop to correct the color cast of the photo. You can also learn to adjust the amount of exposure so that photos look a lot better. For the beginner, Photoshop has an "Auto Fix" function and this allows the program to determine optimal levels in terms of color and exposure. If you are slightly more advanced, you may want to play with adjusting the various color effects and lighting effects yourself. If you have old photos, you really need to learn how to photoshop. Use the suite of tools to simply remove dust and scratches or to rewrite history. You can even remove people or change the background in a picture. Or you could make a collage of your favorite pics.

If you take the time to learn how to photoshop, you will never regret it. You can do pretty much anything you want with Photoshop. You can strip all of the color out of photos and create interesting black and white images. There is a wide assortment of borders, frames, and artistic effects to choose from, too. It is well worth the effort to learn Photoshop.
