Breast cancer constitutes approximately 22.9% of all cancer types in women. While it is more commonly found in women, men can also suffer from this disease. The cancer usually originates in the lobules or milk ducts of breast tissue. When it is caught early, the chances of beating it can be as high as 98%. Unfortunately, if it reaches a more advanced stage, the chance of survival decreases to 23%. It is, therefore, very important to detect this disease before it spreads. Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) was founded to prevent this disease from winning the battle.

The concept is simple. It is important to inform the public about this disease so that women will detect a problem while it can still be treated. Races, two day long walks, and destination bike rides have been raising money for breast cancer research around the world. Unfortunately, researchers have yet to develop a cure. It is clear that more money, more brilliant minds, and greater public awareness are needed to eradicate this devastating disease. In other words, fundraisers need to start using a more interactive approach. Raising funds with a spin to win campaign is a great way to help those in your community that are afflicted with this cancer while also informing others about this terrible disease.

You only need two things to start your spin wheel campaign. First, you will need a prize wheel. They are able to inject fun and interactivity into any spin wheel fundraising campaign, are very easily customized, and even come in a full range of sizes. If you are careful, you can even get a prize wheel that comes with an interchangeable clicker. That way, you can get a softer clicking sound when using the prize wheel indoors. You might find it a little tough to find the second thing. You cannot find it in stores and, even if your friend has it, there is no way to borrow it. It is in your heart and it is often really hard to unlock it. The second piece of equipment, not surprisingly, is compassion.

A former Church of Ireland Archbishop, Richard Whatley, once said, "A man is called selfish not for pursuing his own good, but for neglecting his neighbor's." As unfortunate is it is, a lot of people are so consumed with their own worries and battles that they have no empathy for those suffering from a debilitating disease like cancer. For this reason, potential donors need to be informed about the crisis so many families are facing and encouraged to give all they can to support the cause. With a spin a wheel campaign, you can grab the attention of potential donors and let them know how much they are needed. Tell them why you, personally, became a volunteer to raise funds for cancer victims. Above all, tell them what they can do to help. Let them know that just one dollar invested in the lives of someone who is suffering with cancer can make the difference between them focusing on fighting for their life or focusing on the daily grind of life's demands. It is a simple choice that is easy to see when you take the time to notice.
