What Is Breast Cancer Research Telling Us
Breast cancer research is improving women's chances of winning the battle against this horrible disease no matter what the causes are. Since 1990 deaths related to breast cancer have been steadily declining. Because of the research information provided in the past two decades we can now get more efficient help on the healing path. There are 2 million women walking around living healthy lives as breast cancer survivors. However, to attain a world with minimized cancer we must first look a lot closer than we have in the past.

Research is showing that there are environmental factors causing breast cancer. Scientists have gathered evidence that chlorinated organic pesticides are a contributing factor in breast cancer. This has been known since the 1950's but it has been kept quiet. Imagine what an upheaval it would cause for the food industry if this information went mainstream. Meanwhile women everywhere suffer the effects of these poisons in their bodies when it is, many times, too late for cancer help.

Carcinogenic estrogen, found in the hormone additives given to cattle to cause them to grow bigger, faster, is a major breast cancer threat to humans. Many of us have been eating beef that has been contaminated with these toxins for years resulting in the rise in breast cancer. How sad that this has not been regulated properly and we humans have paid the price.

Where we live and work can influence the level of breast cancer risk we face. Nuclear exposure increase the chances of breast cancer by ten times. There are counties near nuclear reactors that the largest increases since the 1950's. Also, counties that have hazardous waste sites have significantly raised levels of breast cancer deaths. Women who work in facilities around petrochemicals and vinyl chloride have a much higher incidence of breast cancer according to research by the Cancer Prevention Coalition, a group bringing cancer help through education and whistle blowing.

Even foods that we think are good for us can be a cancer cause due to how they are packaged. recently it was discovered that plastics and metal cans that hold many of our everyday foods and liquids are processed with Bisphenol A (BPA) to further their shelf life. For decades we have been consuming products packaged in these containers that are poisonous to us. BPA is suspected to be a large contributor to breast cancer in women.

"A decade-old multi-million dollar deal between National Breast Cancer Awareness Month sponsors and Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) has produced reckless misinformation on breast cancer," stated Dr. Samuel Epstein, a leading international authority on cancer-causing effects of environmental pollutants.

It is hard to believe that the largest manufacturer of petrochemicals and Tamoxifen, a highly toxic drug touted to be cancer preventing, is the "sole funder of the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month since 1984". This has been reported by the Cancer Prevention Coalition whose mission it is to reveal the unethical ways of big corporations that blame women for getting breast cancer through heredity and lifestyle. ICI has done more harm through it's blatant misinformation than almost any other entity.

How long will we let the big corporations with their money hungry actions cause harm to us and those we love. It is time to take a stand and voice our awareness. It is our right to expose these mercenary predators for who they are. Breast cancer research has shown us that we don't have to succumb to the propaganda put out to blind us to the adverse affects of environmental poisons.
