Wow! How far has Twitter came? Just a few short years ago, it was ridiculed by people as being pointless. Then it exploded, and many were sent scrambling looking for a way to use Twitter. The same happened in the marketing community and many tried to learn how to use Twitter advertising
Much of the training for Twitter at that time was how to get loads of followers, and post links to affiliate products and other sale pages. Then many started to automate their tweets as systems came along that allowed people to do this. Unfortunately, this is not the best way to use Twitter. I did all of this listed above, and my twitter died. There were no results.

Maybe you joined Twitter earlier, but could not find out the best way to use it in your advertising, or maybe you never joined Twitter. However, go to Twitter and sign up or log into your old account and let do a Twitter makeover.
If you are not getting a response to your tweets, it is most likely something wrong with your Twitter Profile. So let's look at the more essential elements of your Twitter profile.
The very first thing people see when they look at your profile is your picture. It is very important to use a friendly and smiling picture in your Twitter profile.
The next thing people will read is your description. It is important to have one that people can relate to. You can write about where you live, what you do, and hobbies to describe yourself. You want to make it so when people read it that they can automatically relate to you.
Although Twitter has been around for several years, most marketers do not know how to use it correctly. They just continually tweet links to a sale page all day long. Every Tweet contains a link. This is the bad news.
The good news about this is it very easy to differentiate yourself from all the noise on Twitter. Do the exact opposite. Just be a real person and start engaging other people on Twitter (more on this later).
Many differ here, but I would recommend not automating your tweets. It is very easy to tell if you do this a lot and most will start ignoring you quickly when they realize that you are automating your tweets. Most of all you will lose followers and no results from Twitter advertising.
However, you will want to automate parts of Twitter. This includes auto-following. This is to auto-follow those who start to follow you. There is also an auto-direct message. This sends out a direct message when someone follows you. You can do both for free at socialomph.com.
Just a word of caution about using the auto-direct message. It is not a good idea to send a sales page. Instead use your Facebook page. So for example you could use this: "You are cool:-p Connect with me on Facebook: (your Facebook account) - I love to connect with cool peeps." I know it sounds a little corny, but it works to get people to friend you in Facebook. It is much easier to connect with people on Facebook than Twitter.
