Take On New Challenges With Photoshop
There are three great tricks that are often used to digitally edit and improve a photo when learning how to Photoshop . Whether you are improving the quality of recent vacation pictures or retouching an old family photo, these techniques are incredibly simple and effective.

Brightness/Contrast adjustments. With photos taken in natural light, there are sure to be areas of both under and over exposure. This is not a problem in Photoshop. A few clicks of the mouse and you can turn a decent photo into a great one. You have to keep an eye out for particularly light or dark areas. They become an issue when you adjust the lighting and contrast of the entire photo. To avoid this problem, all you have to do is adjust the brightness and contrast in sections by selecting the area with the lasso tool.

Levels are similar to the brightness and contrast sliders except that, instead of directly altering the image, you are actually pulling light or shadow into your inputs or outputs. Levels are a great way to add dynamic contrast to a picture while eliminating gray or dull areas. It is probably the most popular technique among experts.

The curve tool. It is been said that this is the most powerful tool in Photoshop. All it takes is a click or two to adjust brightness and contrast, dynamic quality, and image richness with this tool. There are actually two ways you can do this:

Ģ You can graph it. With the graph, you put a few points on a grid and pull the graph to adjust the picture.

Ģ Light and dark eye droppers. The more popular of the two methods, this one allows you to adjust your photo with a few clicks. It is really easy because Photoshop does all the work for you. All you need to do is select the light eye dropper and click on the lightest area of the picture. Then, select the dark eye dropper and click on the darkest area. Once you are done, you hit ok in the dialogue box and let Photoshop do its thing.
