Both LCD and DLP type projectors are rated by their luminosity. A lumen is simply a unit of measurement. It is used to describe how much light a source will produce. Luminosity is the most important thing to consider when getting a projector rental. The projector has to be bright enough to display an image to everyone in the room but not so bright that it is uncomfortable to look at the screen. Unless it will be used at a large event, a 2,100 to 5,000 lumen projector is ideal.
