Private Label Rights products are a great way to get the content or designs that you need for your marketing efforts quickly and cheaply and there are a wide variety of plr products available from article packs to graphics and even website templates.
However just because you have paid for the right to use plr content it doesn't mean that you have full usage PLR rights
for it. Be sure to look at the site that you are buying from to make sure that you fully understand what you can and can't do with the content that you have bought. Here is a quick run through of the different terms and conditions that may be attached to the private label rights articles
that you are buying.
By definition Private Label Rights should mean that you wholly own the rights to the product that you are buying and re free to alter or use it in any way that you want, however some supplier put strict rules on the use of the PLR that they supply.
One of the every first terms that is almost universal with plr suppliers is that you may not under any circumstances sell the plr to anyone else for profit.
This makes sense as they want to sell as many copies of their work to as many people as possible, so why should you go into competition with them?
Some suppliers take it a step further and do not allow you to even give the product away to people.
Some allow you to buy their private label rights articles
on the condition that you alter them before using them for any marketing, this may mean rewriting, combining or splitting the articles into smaller posts.
Other plr suppliers place PLR rights restrictions on the way that the content can be used, this is especially true with graphics, so again make sure that you read the fine print thoroughly before buying into any plr material.
In some rare cases you might have unrestricted Private Label Rights, meaning that you can do whatever you like with your purchase, including alter, giveaway or even on sell the product for a profit, but often these come with a higher price tag than your regular PLR packages.
Another growing trend is for Private Label Rights to have Resale Rights attached. This means that you can sell the products on, but that you can not alter them and claim to be the author. Often you also can not pass these Resale rights onto your end purchaser either. However if you were to get Master resale rights you can pass the resale rights onto your customer….. phew!
So how do you know what PLR rights are attached to the products that you are buying?
There are so many variations on the usage rights from private label rights suppliers that most now have their terms and conditions clearly listed on their site.
Most take the form of you CAN do this….. and you CAN NOT do this ……
Despite all the different types of usage rights out there if you are looking for free PLR
articles to help fill your site with content, PLR article packages or reports and eBooks then most plr packages will be fine for this. Remember to check the site and if in doubt contact the owner or author. They are more than happy to answer any questions regarding their private label rights usage.
