Lumens Give Power To Deliver
Regardless of your profession, there is sure to be a time when you will need to use a projector to better communicate your message. The thing is that projectors are not terribly portable. Plus, they are not exactly cheap. On top of the expense, you need to know a lot about projectors to get the best projector rental. Which would be better for your needs, an LCD projector or a DLP projector? Should you get a 5,100 lumen projector rental or is something closer to 3,000 more suitable? To help you make your decision, you might want to learn how one of these machines works.

Let us start with the difference between LCD and DLP type projectors. If you spend a lot of time in the electronics store, you have no doubt heard of 'LCD' in the past. An Acronym for Liquid Crystal Display, LCD technology transformed modern electronics. LCD uses thousands of liquid crystals, hence its name, to distort light and, almost by magic, creates a crystal clear image. When you use an LCD projector rental, you can actually hook your computer up to the projector and show an entire room of shareholders, potential customers, or business associates anything on your computer screen, including a PowerPoint presentation.

DLP projectors make use of a technology known as Digital Light Processing. In this type of configuration, a microchip filled with tiny mirrors tilts whenever a new image is displayed. DLP projectors are commonly used in movie theatres due to their superior contrast. Like the LCD projector, DLP projectors also allow you to connect directly to your computer or laptop. LCD offers slightly superior color saturation, a sharper image, and is more light efficient. DLP projectors are best known for their improved portability, less complicated design, and superior contrast. Ultimately, both types are great for conventions, trade shows, meetings, and presentations. A good projector rental website can direct you to the right type of projector for your event.

When you go to buy or rent a projector, you will likely come across the word "lumens". A lumen just tells you how bright the projector will be. One lumen means that a light source is as bright as one candle flame. As an example, a 3,100 lumen projector puts out 3,100 candle flames of light. This is probably the most important factor you should consider when preparing to purchase a projector rental. The projector has to be just right. Too much light and it might make the audience uncomfortable, too little and the quality of the image will decrease. A 2,100 lumen projector should do the job in most cases.
