In the recent past, negative views were held by online games opponents who claimed that internet games were anti-social and the adversary to the next generation in gaining social skills thereby creating a generation of socially inept, unhealthy recluses insisting that both free games online and monthly subscription internet games would cause people to become anti-social. Those who adhered to the anti-internet notion obviously were people with insignificant knowledge on online gaming and lacked sufficient insight into the internet gaming world. This opinion is now archaic or antiquated at best.

In reality, virtual internet games actually have been extremely helpful in teaching those suffering from Asbergers Syndrome, a mild form of autism, become more competent in socializing in the real world. These internet games aid in their understanding of people and emotions then once they are comfortable interacting within their online game community, take those skills out into the public.

Additionally, senior citizens greatly benefit from social internet games, participating in online cyber games of Bridge for example, while catching up with the latest happenings among old university friends who reside cross country, seemingly as though they are all assembled together in one single cozy room.

With internet games and online gaming being an ever growing multi-billion dollar industry including the free games online business, it is no surprise that the latecomer in the social networking world Google, recently announced incorporating online games into its newly released Google Plus networking site. They are undoubtedly jumping onto the internet games bandwagon trying to capture an enormous slice of that multi-billion dollar pie, validating the undeniable fact that internet games are the fastest growing entity on the web.
