They are raising with just about any two cards and hoping to make their draws or outplay you. Although this may work for a little while, the truth is it also will never carry you through to the final table. After all, people are bound to pick up a poker hand that beats you or just get tired of the aggressive plays and play against you.

The successful way to win online poker games is to start with a poker strategy that is different from the rest of the field. If you play the same game as every one else, what is the likelihood you will get any farther than them? Some players believe they should play at everyone, while the truth is that you have to have a counter attack against your opponents. This is the beginning of building your own poker strategy.

Face it, if you want to play online poker and be a winning player, you can not get trapped into the same rehashed and regurgitated plays that every one is doing. For example, making big raises on the button. Continuation betting after a raise preflop, and shoving in the small blind against the big blind are all ridiculous poker strategies that every one else is doing. The fact that a lot of players know these strategies is why they rarely work.
