Hairstyles using Hair Extensions
Hair extensions are lengths of either real or synthetic hair that can be attached close to the scalp through a number of methods.
Clip-in hair extensions attach to your hair with a comb and clip. These are "temporary" and you can add or remove them as needed.
Micro bonding extensions are the most professional looking and last for months. The adhesive on the bonds is keratin that won't damage your hair. Typically 300 or so strands are applied throughout your own hair to give a more natural look.
The key to wearing your Hair Weave Hairstyles
is color match. When matched well, hair extensions will mix in and move naturally with your own hair. Most people will have to look (more than) twice to tell you are wearing them.
The main advantage to hair extensions is that they provide volume, extend your hair, and can add highlights and low lights without all the fuss and muss of coloring chemicals.
Micro bonded hair extensions can be washed, straightened and curled to give you the perfect style.
You should always treat your hair weaves as your own hair.
Some things to consider are the negatives. The weave is not your natural hair and therefore won't get any of the oils and nutrients that your regular hair gets. The weight of the extensions can also cause scalp irritation. And, as your natural hair grows, your extensions will need to be removed and reapplied.
Of course, with clip-in hair extensions you won't have these issues.
Hairstyles using hair extensions don't have to look faux. With the right touch and practice, you can make your hair look as real as it needs to. The key is matching the color and practicing the techniques.
Here are three of the more common ways to make hair extensions look natural. Hair weave techniques:
- Technique #1 Gently brush your hair and extensions to blend the fibers
- Technique #2 Gently twist your hair and the extensions into it's own natural curls for a blended effect
- Technique #3 After blending the two hairs, use a small-barreled iron to curl the hair. (Make sure your extension is curling iron rated first)
Hair weaves and hair extensions are a great way to add volume and style to your hair.
