The universe is about to enter its Sabbath, confirming
end time prophecies that have been heard of and discussed about everywhere.
One of the many questions and answers that led me into keeping the Shabbath was regarding one of God's 10 commandments. The 4th command is:
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. (Exo 20:8 KJV)
Out of all the 613 commands and instructions of the Torah, why was this particular one included in the 10 commandments which supposedly serves as the Table of Content of the Torah? When I asked this question to the Holy Spirit, what He did was showing me even more verses in the whole Torah that would regulate regarding the keeping of the Sabbath. There are at least 21 verses in the Torah that kept repeating this command in different ways.
A lot of Christians have been arguing that the "
Sabbath" could be celebrated on a different day such as Sunday. There is even a minister of God who out of lack of knowledge in the Hebrew language argued that even Jesus (Yahshua) Himself didn't object or question whether the Sabbath could be celebrated on a Saturday or Sunday. Of course He didn't.
Many don't even understand that the word "Yom Shabbath" in Hebrew is really a translation of "Saturday" in English or "Samstag" in German. Nobody would argue and say that one can spend "Sunday" morning on "Samstag" or "Saturday" evening on "Sonntag" (which translates 'Sunday' in English).
Yom Shabbath or Sabbath is the Hebrew word for 'Saturday'. So any kind of argument that supports keeping the Sabbath on a Sunday is void. That's that.
I do believe that every day is a beautiful day that God created for us and therefore all 7 days should be given back to God, if necessary. I have nothing against Sunday services. The Presence of God and His glory can fall upon anybody on any day, not just on Sabbath or Saturday. However, the 4th commandment to keep the Sabbath holy should still be responded to properly. Naturally, one should obey God's command but I know there are much more people who can give thousands of excuses and arguments not to do so and thus break the Sabbath commandment.
However, the purpose of this article is not to convince anybody to keep the Sabbath holy. It is not my place to do so. It is the job of the Holy Spirit in each of us. The purpose of this article is to share with you how the whole universe will be celebrating a period of Sabbath, or a 'day' of rest, given by God. But in order to see what I am going to discuss here, one should understand the and the Hebrew language and translation of the word "Yom Shabbath" or "Sabbath" correctly.
