Effective External Hemorrhoids Remedy
People all over the world have been and are suffering with hemorrhoids. You are not alone. There are many options. An effective external hemorrhoids remedy depends on the severity of the condition and your willingness to modify your behavior. Listed below are some of the most common options and treatments.

Sclerotherapy

This external hemorrhoids remedy is an injection of a chemical, phenol, inserted into the hemorrhoid. The vein walls collapse and the hemorrhoids dry up, easing the pain and discomfort.

Rubber Band Ligation

With rubber band ligation, a small rubber band is tied around the external hemorrhoid stopping the flow of blood to the hemorrhoid. The hemorrhoid literally dries up and falls off.

Hemorrhoidectomy

This method is a last resort when all other relief options have failed such as for a thrombosed hemorrhoid cure and the hemorrhoids are severe. The surgery requires anesthesia. The surgical procedure removes the hemorrhoids. It is effective for both internal as well as external hemorrhoids. Be warned that the procedure usually causes pain after surgery and requires from two to four weeks to recover.

Coagulation Therapy

This method is becoming popular. Coagulation therapy is effective and non-intrusive. During this procedure, an infrared light or laser cauterizes the vein, the hemorrhoid dries up and shortly thereafter in a few days the hemorrhoid falls off. This method is used primarily for internal hemorrhoids relief. It is performed on an outpatient basis with no postoperative discomfort.

Natural Treatments

Finally, there are natural treatments for external and internal hemorrhoids relief. A natural external hemorrhoid remedy is effective, fast, and much cheaper than using traditional medicine. Not to mention the fact that many of the over the counter and prescription treatments available are full of harsh chemicals that can actually make the hemorrhoids worse over time.

Warm Water Epsom Salt Bath

Warm water is a common treatment for hemorrhoids. Soaking in warm water a few times a day can bring relief and can help eliminate the itching or burning sensation you may feel. The warm water additionally will help reduce the size of the hemorrhoids.

Sit in the warm water bath for about 20 minutes to a half hour. The warm water and Epsom salt helps to improve circulation and soothe the anal area. You can do this as often as you like, doing it at least once a day is recommended.

Heat and Ice

Surprisingly alternating heat and ice packs around the affected anal area will provide relief. Wrap the ice or ice pack with a soft cloth or towel and apply it gently to the affected area for no more than 10 minutes. For the heat pack, apply a damp warm cloth to the affected area. Better yet, soak in a warm salt bath as mentioned above.

Diet and Exercise

Activity stimulates blood flow and improves circulation to the area. Sitting around all day will make the hemorrhoids worse. Mild exercise and eating a diet rich in fiber will speed up the healing process.

There are no magic creams, ointments, or medical procedures that can permanently cure hemorrhoids. Those are all one-dimensional approaches to a complex problem. They treat the symptoms and not the root causes.
