Catch Crappie At Night Details ON Increasing Your Numbers
catching crappie at night can be amazingly productive. Also there is a special peace and tranquility when you fish for crappie at night. The moon casts its reflection across the surface of the water and you hear the sounds so clearly of all night critters across the waters.

And the best thing about it is space! only a few serious anglers ever learn how to catch crappie at night. This Leaves most of the fishing waters to yourself!, and that means very little competition for the best spots.

One of the first night fishing equipment items you want to make sure you have before you go out to catch crappie in the night is a fully charged auxiliary battery if you are going to be fishing in a boat. If you are fishing from the bank just make some carrying straps and attach to a motor cycle or car battery for carrying purposes.

You are going to need your dc power supply for the top water and underwater fishing lights you are going to be using to catch crappie in the night. Make sure you place your night fishing lights carefully. It is very important to develop your own light fishing strategy when you are night fishing for crappie.

Here's a strategy that I use Quite regularly to catch crappie at night. Keep a small led light on board that is not visible to the fish, to avoid spooking them away but is bright enough to see to change tackle.

The other strategy is to allow it to shine into the water, attracting bugs and little organisms - which will attract fish. You can use a Colman lantern for this strategy too. Find out which method works for you. Here is a quick guide for using fishing lights when your night fishing for crappie.

How Works Using The Power Of Light Fishing.

Light tip#1

You do need a submersible fishing light to catch crappie at night, although they will attract large concentrations of bait fish. If you have a fishing light that is not submersible you can still use it to attract crappie at night.

The key is to concentrate the light "across the water" at about a 30 deg angle. You want to control the angle so you will concentrate the light into a smaller area. This will attract insects, small organisms and small fish, which in turn attract bigger prey the crappie.

Light tip#2

You can catch crappie at night without underwater lights but I highly recommend you use a reliable underwater fishing light to fish for crappie at night. If you do purchase a underwater crappie lights you will need to rig it so it is only two or three inches below the water.

This way you will have the light far enough from the crappie so it won't scare them away. The crappie will be attracted to the area of lower intensity light because that is where the small fish and organisms will be located.

Light tip#3

Crappie shy away from bright lights and will suspend close but not in the bright light. The crappie will not come close to the bright part of your light. You will want to set your crappie night fishing rigs so they are set to suspend below the brightest areas of the light.

Well that ends our article today if you take anything from this information just remember that if you really want to learn how to catch crappie then it would do you good to do some research into getting yourself a quality underwater fishing light. You could really be in for some excitement when you go night fishing for crappie.
