When you are doing
Atlanta search engine optimization
,
content is everything. That is to say, Google puts high value on relevant, valid content and will only show results that are likely to satisfy what a person is searching for. When people look for information or reviews on a product, they want to see content that will help them reach their goal. In the last decade, SEO has seen a dramatic increase in competition and, consequently, the industry has had to adapt. With the increase in available websites, search engines are stuck with the task of figuring out which ones are the most relevant. Google, as an example, determines the value and relevancy of a website by "reading" the content and picking out particular keywords. Article writing, then, is one of the best ways to optimize a web page for a particular keyword.
There are three ways in which article writing has changed.
1. The readership is different. In the past, articles were written so that users could learn a new topic. Most of the time, they were fairly formal and informative, tailored to the general reader. The style was similar to that of magazines and newspapers. However, article writing has changed because the needs of the online consumers has changed. You would have to look pretty hard to find long, boring articles nowadays. In fact, longer articles do not fare well in the search engines because Google discovered that they were not as relevant for a given keyword. Google is more interested in articles that are focused on a single topic, offers useful information, and is fairly casual in tone.
2. The Demands are not the same as they used to be. Writing for SEO is different because the demands are different. You cannot write on any topic, post it everywhere and claim that it is unique and valuable content. Google knows that an article can be duplicated. Thus, when you post identical articles, one will be counted as original and the other 99 will be considered syndicated and will add value to the original article. As such, you cannot just write one article and be successful. The fresher the content, the more Google will like it. Article writing is almost an art form. It takes subtle elements of strategy to craft an effective article. Once you have become proficient at article writing, you are halfway there to becoming a professional search engine optimizer.

3. Technology has changed. The advent of genius search engines, namely Google, has had the greatest impact in influencing how articles are written. With years of slight changes to algorithms, Google seems to be able to "read" the content of articles and interpret the phrases. It does not just count the number of words or pick out certain keywords. It looks at the article as a whole. Google is looking for casual content and websites that hold visitors for longer periods of time. The longer you stay on a website, the more content you find interesting and valuable.
