At junior school the daily horror use to be drinking milk in the morning break. Yes, without fail at around 10.30 out came the milk crate and all children were given their daily carton of milk to drink for health purposes. So image my disbelief when I read that milk actually wasnt the greatest stuff in the world to be drinking. Worse scenario was that it could even be damaging to your health!
In the UK a few years back, it was well grounded belief that cows milk would do you a lot of good because it had a ton of calcium, which is good for the bones. If you should suffer from a disease such as osteoporosis then you needed twice as much. However, through research I have actually found this wasnt the case.
Cows Milk Can Ruin Your Health
Apparently, for many people cows milk is extremely difficult to digest. It is now known that many people are actually allergic to the milk. It has also been known to produce allergic reactions such as sinusitis, asthma, earache, congestion, eczema, fatigue, skin rashes and more. Cows milk is actually out of balance with human biochemistry thus many of its nutrients cannot be absorbed by humans. Not really surprising as the milk was actually meant for a baby calf.
However, I research has shown that up to the age of just 3 years old, humans have the facility to break down and digest the milk. After this age we lose that vital component in the body that makes this happen efficiently. Hence, the intolerance that some children and adults experience to cows milk.
To make things even worse, cows also have numerous drug and hormone injections that can also find their way into the milk. If that happens, in even the tiniest amounts, that wont do you any good, to put it mildly.
However, drinking cows milk in your cereal may now have become such an ingrained habit that it can be really hard to change. It literally took me years to make the switch to soya milk as I hated the stuff at first. If you decided that this 'so called' health food that produces phlegmn and other nasties is not for you, there are healthier choices.
There is almond milk. There is also goat and sheeps milk which are easier for people to digest due to the smaller molecule structure. So remember there is a choice out there if you decide to cut cows milk from your familys diet.
