Wine is also popular as a condiment to food and red wine especially, can actually provide you with some health benefits and helps with the digestion process if consumed in moderate amounts.
While you do not need to rigidly stick to the Mediterranean diet plan, you will undoubtedly find that you will be enjoying your food more while eating healthier so you might discover that you want to adopt this way of eating all the time.
