This S510 bill
was considered in committee which has recommended it be considered by the Senate as a whole. Although it has been placed on a calendar of business, the order in which legislation is considered and voted on is determined by the majority party leadership. Keep in mind that sometimes the text of one bill is incorporated into another bill, and in those cases the original bill, as it would appear here, would seem to be abandoned.
Another bill HR875 regarding Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009 has been passed and currently the news that is going viral over the internet is about Senate bill S510 which is still in discussion for amendment to exempt farmers who grows over $500,000 a year from this regulation.
It has been such a viral rumour going through Americans. Many are not even sure if this news about Senate bill S510 is actually true. However, I have attached a news video that explains that S510 does exist. In fact, they are proposing a small amendment in the bill which will allow bigger farmers to be exempt from "this regulation". So, you mean, there actually IS a regulation like that?
The purpose of this 250 page bill is to improve capacity in order to prevent food safety problems. The bill was drafted after all the salmonella outbreaks in produce that happened a while ago. In the name of safe food, they are trying to regulate who can grow their own food and who cannot. According to the news above, the lucky ones that will be exempted from this regulation are the bigger farmers that grow more than $500,000 a year. How convenient does that sound?
Commenting on the S510 bill, agricultural company Monsanto claims that it has no interest whatsoever in the bill, let alone benefit from it. Former Monsanto employees interestingly are currently holding positions in US government agencies such as Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the United States Environmental Protection Agencies. Among these employees is Michael Taylor, former lobbyist of Monsanto.
Now wait for the shocking surprise. Michael Taylor, who was a lobbyist for Monsanto, is the one who designed the Senate bill S510. Currently he is expecting to be appointed Food Czar by FDA to administer the agency that the bill will create if it passes. Imagine the unlimited power Taylor will have over all US seed, food supplements, food and farming.
Senate bill S510 will eventually put all US food and all US farms under Homeland Security and the Department of Defense, in the event of contamination or an ill-defined emergency. This goes according to Henry Kissinger's plan as discussed by the article "Henry Kissinger's 1974 Plan for Food Control Genocide
which appeared as part of a feature in the December 8, 1995 issue of Executive Intelligence Review.
