A good website marketing strategy is a must if you want to make it to the top of the search engine rankings. Finding an internet marketing expert who is interested in his potential customers and not just what he can get financially is also highly recommended.

There are many various ways that a website can be promoted and the more ways it is done the better. The first thing to do would be to write some articles about the topic of your site and post them on article directories, making sure that you include your keywords as anchor text.

Your articles should wherever possible have three links, each pointing to a different page on your site for greater exposure. You should also make sure that your first two anchor text links are within the first eight hundred characters of your article. This is because when you come to the social bookmarking a lot of the sites only show up to the first eight hundred characters of any site article.

Your strategic internet marketing should continue with the bookmarking of your articles, although this is not as easy as it once used to be. Before the spammers came along and ruined it for everyone, many of the high PR sites would allow you to set up an account with them and let you leave a few links to your site. Nowadays a lot of them have banned the opening of new accounts, but it is not all doom and gloom as there is still a way to get many new links to your site.

What I am talking about is a membership site that has it's own private network of sites that you as a member can submit your links to. There is normally a small monthly charge for being allowed to do this but the benefit you reap for your own website is well worth the outlay.

Forums are another great place to visit when looking at your website marketing strategy, as not only can you leave a link in your signature you can also meet like-minded people. These can also be very beneficial to you as often you will find the internet marketing expert that will help and advise you on website marketing strategies, often for free.

If your website is built using Wordpress and you have posts and pages then submitting the RSS feed is a great way to build backlinks to your site. The great thing about posting the RSS feed is that when you add new posts you do not have to manually submit the feed again as it is automatically updated by the sites that you submitted to originally.

Web site marketing strategies can also include submitting your site to the many directories that reside on the internet. This can be a long and laborious process and is often done as a long term strategy. Because it takes so long to come to fruition, directory submission is normally a job that you would outsource.

Whatever website marketing strategy you decide to choose, remember that you will not get success overnight no matter what you may be told elsewhere. These strategies are for long term success and will work but you must not give up if you do not see results immediately.
